Mentorship

Program Background & Qualifications

John Cassis, founder of Guardian Financial Consulting, is passionate about mentoring.  He connects well with Millennials and Generation Z’s, and appreciates their curiosity and interest in a better future.  He has set aside time to mentor adults starting out in life, or looking to make a career change, at no charge.  If you’re looking for a mentor in business, trading, investing, real estate, entrepreneurship, personal finance, analysis, or similar topics, and would like to be considered for a pro-bono mentorship, e-mail us using the link below.  Please include your full name, city, state & country, age (must be 18 or older), what you’re seeking to learn, and a detailed description of what you’re looking for.  Mentors and mentees must be a good fit for the relationship to be beneficial, and the more information you provide the better we can evaluate the likelihood of a successful match.  Video submissions of up to three minutes, introducing yourself and expressing your interests, are preferred.  Spaces are limited.

Program Overview

Administered by Guardian Financial Education, the mentorship is a flexible, semi-formal, fully voluntary program.  Mentees selected for the program will meet with John via video conference approximately once every two weeks for two to three months.  Each call is targeted for one to two hours, depending on follow-ups from the prior meeting.  Meeting times will be pre-arranged at a time convenient for both parties.  Mentoring is one-on-one only, no group sessions.  Either mentor or mentee may terminate the mentorship arrangement at any time and for any reason.

Expectations

Mentees must have access to a computer with webcam video and audio.  We will provide a videoconferencing link to connect via a web browser.  In the event of technical difficulties, a phone call may have to substitute for a video call.  Since the mentoring program is for their developmental benefit, mentees are expected to be proactive in the experience.  Mentees are expected to follow through on any commitments they made on a prior call.  Other than that:  have fun, learn a lot, and ask a lot of questions...no topic is off the table!  We can't promise that we'll have answers, but we'll tell you when we don't.
